Kristin Benson
Life can be hard and sometimes challenges arise that become too much to navigate alone. My goal as your counselor is to provide a non judgemental, warm and open environment that allows you to feel safe and supported as we take on these challenges together. I recognize that everyone is different, which is why I work to ensure the counseling process is centered around your needs and strengths in order to support you as we work together to reach your goals.
My name is Kristin, but most people call me “KK.” I have my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Gonzaga University and currently, I am a Nationally Certified Counselor as well as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I specialize in working with individual children, adolescents and adults who may be experiencing a difficult challenge in their life such as anxiety, depression or trauma.
If you see your child struggling to manage their emotions, their self-confidence, behaviors or maybe they are having a hard time at school, I will work with both you and your child to navigate these difficulties together. If you are an adolescent or an adult struggling with self-esteem, big life changes or relationship issues, I will sit with you as we explore things that may be preventing you from being the person that you want to be and doing the things that you want to do.
Taking the step to begin counseling can feel scary and overwhelming, but I am here to support you as you work through the challenges that life has thrown your way. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have via my email or phone. I look forward to hearing from you!
